New feature - coupons

by ferty on 19. April 2010 00:49Categories: News, Tips & Tricks

Hello again!

It's new workweek and more news about our latest improvement both for sellers and users.

We designed another one useful tool for our vendors and a very “tasty” feature for buyers. So, meet our new tool – coupons. Now when seller gives a quote he can choose the type of discount attached to this quote or can give it with a custom price without any discounts. We approved 2 discount types: fixed amount, e.g. 20$, and you can submit % discount, like 15% off the price.

Pikaba coupon

User can easy print this submitted coupon and go to the sellers local store to buy product he needs. Very simple and very useful – if you satisfied with the offer just print the coupon and buy the item with a discount from Pikaba vendor.

That's all for today, more news later this week, follow us on twitter or facebook & don't forget to check newsfeed to be in touch with Pikaba.com.

Good luck!

Some new seller tips.

by ferty on 8. January 2010 02:57Categories: Tips & Tricks

Hi there!

Hope all of you enjoyed Christmas and New Year holidays and ready for lots of deals with Pikaba.com ;)

This year gonna be very cool for all Pikaba users: we are going to implement several cool features and make your online shopping more easier and money-saving. Ok, later about this. Today I’ll give couple of tips for our sellers.

The first one is about our notification letters, if someone wants the product you have.  We send this letters from our no-reply email, unfortunately, there is no sense in replying to this email address, because we won’t forward your reply to the potential buyer. If you want to submit a quote to this buyer or ask any additional questions follow the links in the first letter, they are just below the request details.

The second one is about price lists uploading: sometimes there are some problems for us to publish them because of the wrong format of your Price list. So, if you are not sure if your price list is correct, check our Blog post about howto start right data feed and try to upload it.

Hope this tips will be useful for everyone!

Good luck!

Pikaba offers: your main seller tool.

by ferty on 17. December 2009 02:25Categories: News, Tips & Tricks

Hi! As you know from my previous post, offer (or quote) is your main tool to get to the customer all information about your sale proposal.Of course you can send a private message to everyone you want or use one of our Community features like “add as friend”, in fact, all these features designed not for increasing your sales, but “submit a quote” is. So, let’s speak about offers.

To give a quote you have to click on the request and get on its page with full description, map, and several useful sections below.

One of those sections named “offers” is what you need – click the expand button and enter the price you want for this product and it’sdescription with a shipping details, warranty information or discount proposals. Then click “Post offer” button and here it is, your request is posted and youjust have to wait for some time to get answer from customer. Besides you don’t needto have this product in your product sheet to give a quote, but if you havethis one in your price and customer will be able to see what he wants,  it will be a real benefit for you.

Good luck with your deals at Pikaba !

Hi! Those one of you who have been using Pikaba for a long time may remember the tag cloud at the main page’s footer. We removed it in July, but now it comes back with a new features! Now we have 2 tags directories and 2 lines with a popular categories – both for products and requests. Products common searches gives you the information about the most popular searched products and request information shows you what requests are popular among Pikaba users.

So, our sellers can take an advantage from the information given by this tags because they are really can tell you about trends and latest consumer needs – all you have to do is to give people products they need. You know, it’slike your own marketing research agency, but without any expenses – I definitely like this.

So, be in touch with your customers and don’t forget, that the Black Friday is coming on, great time for sellers, yeah ;)

Matching system update: new features.

by ferty on 22. October 2009 04:19Categories: News, Tips & Tricks

Pikaba.com matching system gives new features for our sellers!

Now it is easy to find out what requests are matched with your products without any subscribes, notifications or request browsing. All information you need can be found on My Products page and accessible directly from seller’s dashboard.

At My Products page you can find all matched requests for all your products – our system automatically checks all requests and compiles them with each of your products.

From there you can mark every request as a “bad match” if it does not matches with your product, can see the matched request details and, as it is possible from your dashboard, you can give a quote to user looking for item you sell.

Enjoy selling with Pikaba.com.

Product submitting tips: how to start right data feed

by Alexis on 1. October 2009 02:18Categories: Tips & Tricks

Hello again!

Pikaba support team prepared tip message for our sellers about how to list your product correctly.

Adding items one at a time is not a problem: you can manually select category for your product, write title and description, choose the right tag, select the picture you like and set the price. Importing form eBay is easy too – our system works perfectly with eBay listings.

So we’ll speak about starting data feed using Excel, CSV, Word, PDF or other Inventory software. When you submit your price list our system analyzes all items in price and converts to unique Pikaba format so it’s very important for you to make no mistakes, otherwise your products will be shown incorrect.

What has to be in that price, what structure shall it has? To help you here some rules how to compose the ideal price list. The main rule is “one product – one line” – every new line in your product spreadsheet is qualified by our system as a new item. Your product spreadsheet has to have several columns for each line: name, category, tags, description, price and picture – if all this columns exist and filled in – you may be sure that your product will be listed 100% correctly. Also, in description and picture columns you may use HTML tags you need. Be sure that your HTML source valid and contains no unclosed tags or any mistakes.

And one more thing, our system transforms many formats, but, as we noticed, the best results come out if your price list composed in xml or CSV.

Enjoy to sell with Pikaba an good luck.

Simple mistakes and how to avoid them

by Alexis on 17. September 2009 21:13Categories: Tips & Tricks

Hi there! Today I’ve got a message from our support team about some common mistakes in your requests and products and tips how to avoid them.

We will start from very common mistake: product reposting. For example you have a nice IKEA table and you have already submitted it to our system. You have no need to repost the same product next day. It does not depends how old your listed product is and how close to the top it is displayed, it is already tracked by our matching system. Now, as long as your product is listed at Pikaba, you will receive automatic notifications about new requests for your product. So if you posted the same product several times the only benefit you get – more identical notifications.

Now about requests. If you want to buy a car you need to create a request and that’s all.  Quite simple as it has to be. But if you want to buy a car and some accessories – there can be some problems. Many users decide “If I need a car and AC/tires/bumper/something other for it, it will be better to write all this stuff in a one request.” It is a mistake. To make you request usable for our system you should follow the simple rule: one product – one request. So to get the best result you should create individual request for car and for every component or accessorize you need.

If you have any questions feel free to mail our support team. Pikaba support is always ready to help you.

Go!
